Why do we need to treat lawns with fertiliser?
Whilst natural processes in the soil can provide some of the necessary nutrients to the lawn, they
cannot keep up with nutrient loss from normal care activities such as mowing. To replace the
nutrients lost when clippings are removed from a lawn, we must apply a fertiliser. This will
keep the lawn green, thick and growing healthily.
What happens if a lawn is short of nutrients?
If a lawn is deficient in any of the essential nutrients, you will start to notice deterioration
in colour and vigour. A nutrient deficient lawn is also susceptible to disease so you may
notice a rise in fungal and bacterial problems.
